Hello reader,
This is a message to say that over the next few months, TdN will be undergoing some changes over the coming months. Firstly, I'm hoping to eventually setup a bi-monthly newsletter that will detail what's going on with the site and what will be going on in the future. The plans aren't concrete as of yet, but I'll be looking at making one every even month from next year. Second of all, and most importantly, I shall be renaming the current "Newcomers" usergroup group to "On Probation" and also setting it up so a user's first post requires Administrator approval, though after approval, you will moved into the next group up, which will now be known as "Newborn".
The reason for this is because I'm just after cleaning out a lot of spammers in the database, and I had to clean up a lot of spam posts too, so I want to restrict what spammers can do, as it works to the detriment to the forum. The simplest way to get to the "Newborn" usergroup (if you haven't made a post yet) is simply to post an introduction and you'll have more proper access to the forum as a whole, although you will not necessarily be able to have access to the mature forums straight away (provided you're of the right age).
Those of you who have been stuck waiting for a confirmation email over the past while have now all been approved, though at the time of writing, we're still using the old system. Additionally, from the next email onwards those who are in the "Awaiting Confirmation" group will have a link at the end of each email that they're able to click to get themselves confirmed. Those of you who are already confirmed will not see such a link, although you will see the related text for it.
This is being sent to all registered users (with the exception of banned users, so in the future, if I send messages out - with the exception of maybe sending out a link to the TdN Newsletter Mailing List - if you have declined Admin emails, then you will recieve no more emails associated with TdN after that email, apart from with really important announcements, which will be few and far between. If you need support with anything on the site, you can email support@therians.net or message me on the website, and I'll assist you as best as I can. If you have lost your password and need to recover access to your account or require activation, there will be links at the bottom for you to do so. The descriptions are a bit lengthy but will be refined in future mailings.
Finally, if you have yet to make a post on the site or haven't been on for a while, we would love to have you back! Just go to http://www.therians.net and login to your account. Please be aware that the forums have undergone a few changes, and also will be undergoing a few more in anticipation of the transfer over to the new forum software before the end of the year. This means that some features may be disabled, due to the plugins (or an equivelent) being unavailable. I will detail what is available on a forum post at a later date. Please also note that this announcement will also be posted as a news article on the site (albeit slightly modified) and linked to from Facebook, so if you have seen this email or the Facebook link, you will not need to read this again.
Thanks for reading this.

PS: Lost the password to your account? You can go to http://www.therians.net/site/login.php?do=lostpw to get a new password sent to your account. However, if you no longer have access to the email address you think your account was associated with or you didn't recieve a password reset email, please contact support@therians.net. However, before you do that, you're advised to check your junk/bulk mail folders, and be sure to add support@therians.net to your safe senders list.
PPS: Require activation? No one should require it at this time, but the format will be activation link followed by activation number.
