Therians dot Net has a chat room function, which at present only allows site members to use it. You can join it either via the "Chat" link above (for site members), or you can access via your IRC client (with no restrictions) using irc.fsirc.net as the server and #Therians as the channel name, along with #Dark_Place for more adult chat. Please note that #Therians is aimed at those who are 13+, so be sure to keep it clean!

Unfortunately, at present the chat isn't very active overall (due to the somewhat low active member count), although it does see some activity, mostly after 15:00 GMT/UTC, though there may be activity before then. The activity on FSIRC as a whole tends to slow down after about 01:00-02:00 GMT, depending on who is there and what day of the week it is. It is recommended to join the site properly in order to best communicate with the majority of the site's users, as only a relatively small portion of members use the chat at present, though we would like to see more use it.

NB: the site in general is subject to slowdown around the holidays at present (but picks up after them usually), so you may find the place to be a bit inactive forum-wise, though the shoutbox is updated reasonably frequently. Sometimes it is best to check the chat rooms when this occurs as it may be that chat increases in activity when there's no site activity.

Rules
A full list of rules will go here soon. For now, keep in mind that the channel is 13+ and that punishments for offenses are mainly operated under a 3 strikes rule (warn, kick then ban). Please also follow the requests of the channel staff. Failure to do so will result in a "strike". Note that bans can vary in time, depending on the severity of the offense and if severe enough, a straight ban may be issued without a warning or kick. Additionally, be warned that some warns, kicks or bans may be retroactively issued, if the offense is considered severe enough.
